Rabies Vaccination

Transmitted via the saliva of infected mammals, particularly from both domesticated and stray dogs. Whilst there is treatment available post infection, rabies is 100% fatal after symptoms occur.

Our vaccine is highly effective and available for all ages.

Price per dose (3 doses required)

 

When?

Adults require three doses, the second being administered 7 days after the first dose and the third three weeks after the second dose;  inoculation is therefore required at least five weeks prior to travel.  Protection lasts for ten years.

What?

The vaccine is given as an injection in the upper arm.

Side Effects?

Possible mild symptoms include rash, a high temperature, nausea or muscle aches.

Suitable for children?

The vaccine is suitable for children from birth.

Additional Precautions:

Avoid any contact with animals, particularly dogs, while abroad. If you are bitten, scratched or are licked on an open cut or skin abrasion by any animal, wash the wound and seek medical attention immediately.
