Contraceptive pill prescribing

Whilst the contraceptive pill is available free of charge from the NHS, some patients struggle to access the latest, most sophisticated pills available due to GP budget restrictions, or because their local surgery limits the choice available.

Our team of trained pharmacists are able to offer a full choice of oral contraceptives, including both the combined pill and the progesterone only pill.

Subject to initial consultation fee.

Period delay prescribing

For women wanting to delay their period for a special occasion, such as a holiday or religious pilgrimage, our trained pharmacists may be able to offer Norethisterone (a synthetic progesterone), which is effective at delaying the onset of menstruation.

Subject to initial consultation fee.

Emergency contraception

We provide an emergency contraception service for women aged 16 and over. This service requires a face-to-face discreet and confidential  consultation with our pharmacist at our premises. Please note that emergency contraception is more effective the sooner it is taken.

During the consultation, the pharmacist will provide information and appropriate professional advice and, if necessary, medication. Advice will also be given, should it be considered necessary, to arrange a referral to a GP or sexual health service.

In accordance with NHS guidance, all our pharmacists are DBS checked and have received appropriate training to provide this service.

Subject to initial consultation fee.
